Mark Idwal Gittins
I am a self taught artist specialising in Watercolours and Oils. In the past I have also painted Silk Fashion. I live in Ruthin at the foothills of the Clwydian mountain range in North Wales. This is also close to the Snowdonia National Park and I am inspired and influenced by these landscapes, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
I have been painting since the early 1980’s constantly improving my skills by attending workshops and courses taught by other artists. My paintings and silks can be found in homes as far afield as France, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Denmark, UK, the US and Western Sahara.
Having exhibited my work at small country fayres for a number of years, in 2005 I held my first major exhibition in London, Mayfair at the Cork Street Gallery. For this exhibition I joined forces with Richard Ginnett, a new artist from the United States.
Today, I work from Studio 59, a recently purpose built workshop at home. I enjoy working in all mediums and express the moment and mood through the use of vibrant colour.
